Wanted: Head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development

Our industry is undergoing profound technology change and we will soon be launching a new line of products to exploit the opportunities this change brings.
With a strong technical sales manager and strong marketing resources already in place, our new Head of Sales, Marketing and Business Development will take our commercial activities efforts to the next level and establish a high-performing sales and marketing team.
Banke ApS is focused on battery- or hydrogen electric solutions for niche markets within heavy duty vehicles, and our existing customer focus will be largely unchanged. However, the changes we see in the market will beneficially impact our positioning in the industry value chain. We expect this positive development to require diversification of our activities and the need for new partnerships and organizational structures. Our new head of sales, marketing and business development will own and drive this process.
Although our business is product oriented and technically complex, a successful candidate does not have to hold a technical education. We will be looking for a demonstrated ability to organize the commercial effort, build strategic alliances and pave the way for our engineers to solve specific customer application issues, which is our core competence. Your role will therefore also include a range of product management activities.
While you don’t need a specific technical education and background, you will be expected to have experience from a technical environment. This could be within Power Electronics, Hydraulics, Automation or some other relevant field. We are eager to learn from you and appreciate your ideas on how you will support us commercially in this journey.
Banke ApS is a small entrepreneurial organization, so although the sales and marketing staff will report to you, only a minimum amount of time will be spent on people management. You will be expected to perform other managerial tasks including weekly and monthly status reporting as well as some project management activities. Given the opportunities to be addressed, your leadership skills are crucial for this position.
In addition to this you are,
- Fluent in German/English and maybe Danish
- An experienced project manager with a proven track record
- A good negotiator
- Experienced with M&A (though not necessarily at top executive level)
- Comfortable with technically complex products
- Comfortable being the point of contact with top management of our strategic customers
- Ready to participate in product management activities
- Willing to travel, expected travel activities 50? days yearly
We will look favorably on candidates residing in southern Denmark and in the Flensburg, Kiel & Hamburg areas, but the company is flexible in this regard. We will appreciate seeing you in Sønderborg quite often.
