Banke ApS Joins €1.7M Battery Innovation Project

We’re excited to announce that Banke ApS is a key partner in a groundbreaking project that has secured €1.7 million in funding under the prestigious Eureka Network Eurostars Call 7 program. This ambitious initiative, titled “AI-Powered Battery Management System” (AIBMS), aims to revolutionize the performance, lifespan, and safety of electric vehicle (EV) batteries through cutting-edge artificial intelligence.

In a highly competitive selection process, with 2,794 institutions submitting 699 preliminary applications, the AIBMS project was chosen for funding. This 36-month initiative brings together a powerful consortium of five leading organizations:

• Banke ApS
• Bilkent University
• ORTEM

The AIBMS solution promises to deliver significant advancements beyond the current state-of-the-art, including:

• 20% longer range (additional 500 charge cycles)
• 30% longer lifespan (realistic battery limits)
• 20% reduction in unexpected battery failures (early fault prognosis by predictive analytics)
• Best-in-class battery state estimations (accuracy >99% with AI-driven algorithms)
• Improved residual battery value (enhanced second-life potential and resale value)
• Lower carbon footprint (optimized energy efficiency and sustainable battery management)
